No, a prescription is not required to have an eye test. You can come with your most recent prescription or simply bring your current glasses. However, if your prescription is no longer valid and you wish to order new glasses, you will need to obtain a new prescription from an ophthalmologist or your general practitioner.
How long is a prescription for eyeglasses valid?
• Under 16 years old: valid for 1 year • From 16 to 42 years old: valid for 5 years • Over 42 years old: valid for 3 years We can adjust your prescription based on your valid prescription, unless otherwise indicated by your prescribing doctor.
How long is a contact lens prescription valid?
• For patients aged 16 and under: valid for 1 year • For patients over 16: valid for 3 years
